Cornwall, UK’s county of tourism. You might disagree as London, Liverpool, and other areas are where tourists go to.. BUT hear me out! Cornwall is also where tourists visit as it provides beautiful nature sceneries in the summer.
This post is about the gorgeous St. Ives!
The photos below are what you will encounter before reaching the main beach. They’ve got almost like a barrier to block out half of the beach and behind it is where boats park. You purchase fishing tour in the centre area of the town from £18 – 40 for couple hours, there will be lots of mini booths promoting these tours so you can pick whichever one you fancy!
And this is the beach I mentioned earlier! I kid you not, the colour of the water was literally a gradient of turquoise green and deep blue, it was unbelievable! Such a place for you to relax and enjoy a lovely weather!
However beside these lovely sights, Cornwall is known for its nature and inconvenient transportation so rent or bring a car down if you want to have a visit and be prepared for a mini mountain climbing if you want to reach the beach.
The above picture is one of them, but this one is for adventurous people who love exceptional views! For me… I decided to take it a little bit easy and go for the one below instead!
If you fancy swimming or paddle boarding, you can easily rent sweatsuits and paddle boards from a small shop that provides swim wears and equipment. Each item can be hired for £6 – 8 an hour. Oh by the way, you need to have cash with you, as this is the only shop that doesn’t take cards.
Just warning you that no matter how warm it is on the shore, the water will be the opposite, it’s a bit strange like that in Cornwall. When we went in the water, OH MY GOD it was so cold! Luckily we hired sweatsuits so we were fine, therefore I definitely recommend hiring out those!
I’ve never paddle board before in my life so I decided to give it a go, and MAN IT WAS HARD! I got carried away by the wave into the opposite direction that I was going so many times that the shop had to send a rescue team to get me back!
Anyways.. I survived, otherwise I wouldn’t be here writing a blog post for you guys! haha
Of course, everyone has to regain some energy after a fun activity so we went to this place for food!
Rum & Crab Shack is the must-go place in St. Ives, it’s mainly a restaurant but also a pub. Their rum was quite good, hence their name.
We ordered 2 burgers, crab taco, lobster mac&cheese and they were DELISH! I really recommend crab taco as you can taste the freshness of the seafood, and if you squeeze some lemon on it.. YUMMY! It was around £9.5, I consider the price quite good for the food that I got.
Thank you so much for reading I hope you guys enjoy it! Like this post if you think it’s great and comment down below if you’ve been to St. Ives as well! And please share your experience with me in the comment about your experience in Cornwall as I love hearing you guys!
